RISE: The n'betweener® Homecoming — Terms of Participation & Attendance 

By registering for or attending RISE: The n'betweener® Homecoming, including any associated VIP day, sessions, or related programming (the “Event”), you (“Participant”) agree to the following Terms of Participation (the “Terms”).

These Terms exist to protect the integrity of the experience, the safety of participants, and the values of respect, consent, and belonging that RISE is built on.

1. About RISE

“RISE” refers to a live event, gathering, or experiential program organized by Nora Alwah LLC (the “Company”), which may be offered in different locations, formats, themes, or for different audiences over time.

RISE is a live, in-person and virtual educational and community gathering designed for n’betweener® individuals—people who live and lead between cultures, identities, and worlds. The Event includes talks, workshops, facilitated conversations, and shared community experiences.

RISE is not therapy, mental health treatment, or medical care.

2. Scope of These Terms

These Terms apply specifically to the RISE Event titled RISE, the n’betweener® Homecoming, taking place on May 2, 2026, in New York City.

3. Eligibility & Registration

  • Participants must be 18 years or older.

  • Registration information must be accurate and complete.

  • Your ticket grants you a single right of admission to attend; all Participants must check in with a valid ticket.

  • The Company reserves the right to deny entry to anyone who does not comply with these Terms or venue requirements.

4. Tickets, Transfers & Refunds

  • No refunds are available for any reason, including no-shows, travel issues, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Ticket transfers are allowed up until April 3rd, provided:

    • You notify the Company in writing via hello@nbetweener.com

    • The replacement Participant meets eligibility requirements

  • Tickets may not be resold for profit or transferred without approval.

  • The Company reserves the right to invalidate tickets obtained through unauthorized resale or fraud.

5. Event Changes, Cancellation & Force Majeure

The Company may have to modify the Event schedule, speakers, venue, content, or format if needed, as provided, below.

If the Event must be canceled or substantially altered due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control—including but not limited to severe weather, government restrictions, venue issues, public health concerns, natural disaster or force majeure—the Company may:

  • Reschedule the Event,

  • Convert it to a virtual or hybrid format, or

  • Issue a credit toward a future event.

The Company is not responsible for travel, lodging, or other personal expenses.

6. Health & Safety

By attending RISE, you acknowledge and agree:

  • You are responsible for your own physical and emotional wellbeing.

  • You will not attend if you are experiencing a contagious illness.

  • You agree to follow all venue safety rules and instructions from staff or security.

  • The Company reserves the right to deny entry or remove any participant whose presence poses a health or safety risk as determined by the Company in its sole discretion.

7. Accessibility & Accommodations

The venue includes elevator access.

Participants requiring accommodations (mobility, seating, sensory, or other access needs) are encouraged to contact hello@nbetweener.com by April 3rd so reasonable efforts can be made to support participation.

8. Code of Conduct

RISE is committed to creating a respectful, consent-based, and inclusive environment.

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or intimidation

  • Unwanted physical contact or sexual harassment

  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with the experience of others

  • Recording or photographing other participants without their explicit consent

  • Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern

The Company, in its sole discretion, may take any action deemed appropriate—including warning or removal without refund—to uphold these standards.

Concerns may be reported to Event staff or via hello@nbetweener.com.

9. Confidentiality & Community Care (Important)

RISE invites meaningful personal sharing. To support trust and safety:

  • Participants are expected to respect the privacy of others.

  • Do not share names, stories, or identifying details of other attendees outside the Event without explicit permission.

  • Recording or posting others’ words, images, or experiences without consent is prohibited.

However:

While the Company sets expectations and enforces standards, it cannot guarantee the confidentiality of other participants. By attending, you acknowledge this shared responsibility and agree to participate with discernment.

10. Media, Photography & Recording

  • The Event may be photographed, filmed, or recorded by the Company or its partners.

  • By attending, you grant permission for your likeness, voice, or image to be used for documentation, marketing, or educational purposes without compensation.

  • If you wish to opt out of being photographed or recorded, please notify Event staff upon arrival.

Participants may not record sessions or other Participants without explicit permission.

11. Intellectual Property

All content presented at RISE, including but not limited to talks, frameworks, exercises, slides, written materials, recordings, and event design (collectively, “Event Content”), is the intellectual property of the Company and/or its speakers and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

The Company grants Participants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Event Content solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Participants may not, without prior written permission:

  • Record, reproduce, distribute, or publish Event Content

  • Sell, license, or commercially exploit Event Content

  • Create derivative programs, trainings, or materials that replicate or substantially reference the Event Content

  • Use Event Content as source material for products, services, or marketing offerings

Participants are welcome to share personal reflections and learnings from the Event, provided such sharing does not disclose proprietary materials, copy Event Content, or identify other Participants without consent.

All intellectual property rights not expressly granted remain reserved by the Company.

12. Educational Disclaimer (Not Therapy)

RISE is an educational and community experience.

  • Attendance does not create a therapist-client, coaching, or medical relationship.

  • RISE does not provide crisis support.

  • Participants are responsible for choosing their level of participation and may step out at any time.

If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

13. Assumption of Risk & Liability

By attending, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including physical, emotional, or environmental risks.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Company’s liability is limited to the amount paid for your admission.

  • The Company is not responsible for loss, injury, or damage to personal property.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

15. Agreement

By registering for or attending RISE, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Participation.

A high-impact, full-day NYC event celebrating complex intersecting identities — with TED-level ideas, Pride-level energy, and the global homecoming n’betweeners have never had until now.

➕ Optional n'betweener Evening 

An informal, optional evening gathering will follow on Saturday for those who wish to stay, mingle, and connect more casually.

Details will be shared closer to the event.
